THINK. ANSWER. GROW.
JTeen quiz rules.
Updated October 19, 2026. These rules cover the scheduled JTeen trivia quizzes in the app and on the website.
Who runs the quiz
The quiz is sponsored and administered by JTeen at Chabad of the Shore, through Rabbi Yaakov Greenberg. Apple is not a sponsor of, and is not involved in, this contest. Amazon is not a sponsor of this contest.
Who can enter
Approved, active JTeen teen accounts for people aged 13 or older may enter. A saved high-school graduation year is required for prize eligibility. Alumni become ineligible for trivia prizes on December 26 of their graduation year, New Jersey time. Parents, staff, and administrator accounts cannot enter for a prize. Alumni may continue participating for learning and points.
No purchase or paid annual enrollment is required to enter or win a quiz. No points, payment, or wager is required to submit an answer. One entry per teen per quiz, shared across the app, website, and texting when available. Extra accounts do not create extra entries.
When and how to play
Scheduled quizzes open on Mondays and Thursdays at 7 p.m. and close at 9 p.m., America/New_York time, with the holiday breaks shown in the schedule. Each quiz displays its opening and closing times. Only the first answer received by JTeen’s server during that window counts. Submissions cannot be changed. Late answers are not accepted. After you submit, you see whether your answer is correct, the correct answer, and an explanation when available. The prize winner and points totals finalize after the quiz closes.
Notifications are a convenience; delivery may be delayed or unavailable. You can open the Quiz page directly during the window. Your device’s clock or the time a notification arrives does not determine entry order.
The prize and winner
Each quiz with an eligible correct response awards one $25 Amazon gift card. For quizzes opening on or after October 22, 2026: correct answers are ordered by receipt, including correct answers from people who cannot win. Start at the seventh correct answer. If that person cannot win, move forward to the eighth, ninth and so on until an eligible winner is found. If nobody from seventh onward qualifies, or fewer than seven correct answers were received, the first eligible correct responder wins. If nobody qualifies, no prize is awarded. Selection and display happen automatically after closing; no administrator approval is needed.
Order is determined by the server’s recorded submission time, with the stored submission identifier breaking any exact time tie. A winner must wait six calendar weeks (42 days, New Jersey time) from the closing time of their last winning quiz before winning again. They become eligible at that same local time six weeks later. Wins before October 22 also count toward this wait. They can continue answering and earning points while waiting. JTeen may mark a member ineligible for prizes because they do not meet the program’s eligibility requirements, including school/program participation. That setting does not remove their account, participation or points. Eligibility changes do not alter a finalized winner. Before October 22, quizzes use the original rule: seventh eligible correct responder, otherwise first eligible correct responder, with repeat wins allowed. JTeen contacts the winner through their account or saved contact details to arrange delivery. Contact the program if a result or prize needs attention.
Points and practice
A correct, on-time answer earns 5 points. Any on-time answer keeps the participation streak, including a wrong answer. The eighth consecutive completed quiz adds 5 bonus points; the twentieth adds 10. Missing a scheduled quiz breaks that streak. Winning a gift card does not spend your points.
Clearly labeled practice or sample quizzes do not award real prizes. These rules do not open a season-end raffle or define any point-to-ticket exchange; those are separate from the scheduled quiz.
Questions and technical problems
Use Messages in JTeen or email [email protected] for a scoring question, technical problem, or prize-delivery question. Include the quiz date. Staff review server records; a points correction does not automatically change the recorded prize winner. Any future change to the prize or entry rules will be published before the affected quiz opens.
